Christian Hundertmark, alias C100, is a major figure in Germany’s urban-art movement, where he has been a pacesetter for nearly 20 years.

The originality of his compositions stems from his combination of a formal artistic education at Munich’s Blocherer School of Graphic Design and his knowledge of surfaces in the public space (e.g. flaking paint, torn posters, cracked walls). His chaotic creations – collisions of lines with steep and hilly contours, areas of flat colour, drawings, photographs – yield an invisible sense of balance.

Among his many activities, since 2006 he has also been a correspondent for Hong Kong magazine IdN, reporting on design in Zurich, Paris and Munich.

He has also authored a two-volume anthology, The Art of Rebellion, published by Publikat Verlag.
